Thirty Day Challenge Day 7

Tracking And Analytics

Day 07 - Today is all about tracking and analytics. GuruBob takes you through the setting up of a Google Analytics account, and then getting it easily integrated with your Wordpress Direct blog through your sales offer and your articles.

Dan shows us how to use the 30DC Stats Tracker to track affiliate products you’re testing on your Wordpress Direct blog. Dan takes you through the entire process, from creating your affiliate link, to installing it in the tracker.

Yay! Day 7 was quick! It’s about getting Google Analytics tracker, tracking affiliate links and putting the new affiliate links with the tracker in your blog.  Since WordpressDirect already has a plugin for Google Analytics, only the tracking code is needed.  You don’t have to worry about where or how to put the tracking code in the HTML files of your blog.

Thirty Day Challenge Day 6

Publishing A Blog

Day 06 - By now you should have your keyword, a product to promote, and some content to publish. Today is all about putting your hard work to good use. Dan takes you through your options for hosting and domains, and how to choose what’s right for you, including a free hosting option.

Ed shows you how to create your own SEO optimized blog to make use of all of your hard work using a service called Wordpress Direct.

GuruBob wraps it all up by showing you how to get your first article up on your blog, and how to insert your chosen affiliate product into your blog using a sidebar widget.

Today was about getting a blog where we put the research that we did in the past few days. It’s where we put the article and affiliate product that we selected. I thought it’s going to be a rest day to me since I already know how to setup a blog (duh!). But I was wrong!

WordPress Direct offers an SEO friendly blog and scours the Internet for content that you can automatically place in your blog. It sounds cool!

I just have setup my WordPress Direct blog but I’m not yet sure if there is big difference in terms of SEO benefits. I haven’t seen how the auto-content generator tool works so I can’t tell if it is really cool. Can we have a word press plug in that does a similar job? Hmmm… Maybe I’ll research on that.

Thirty Day Challange Day 5

Getting Some Content

Day 05 - Today GuruBob introduces us to another new feature of Market Samurai, the Find Content module. GuruBob shows you how to use Market Samurai to find content for your target keyword.

Ed shows us how to create our own content using materials we collect from a variety of sources, including Google Reader that we set up in preseason. Ed also explains why he favors the use of the attribution method, ie. commenting on someone elses article.

Today was about getting content for my selected keyword.  Sure, you can get content from free article directories by using Google or using the article directory’s search feature.  But in the videos, GuruBob also shows us how Market Samurai analyzes the article and gets information such as back links, page ranks, age of the article, index counts and phrase counts (how many time your keyword is used).  You can get this information from different sources but of course, getting this in an instant is definitely better.

Thirty Day Challenge Day 4

After getting busy with the cool Market Samurai, it’s now time to find something to sell. Here’s what we are up to on Day 4.

Finding Stuff To Sell And Test

Day 04 - Today we look testing our chosen market to find out if the market spends money. We do this by finding a product or service that we can sell as an affiliate. Ed details some methods we can use to find a possible product.

Dan explains how to get some content written for the product you’ll be promoting, and how to put an image together to go with it.

Today’s course is a bit tricky for me. I can’t find a nice product to sell with the keyword that I’ve selected. So, I went back to the courses from Day 2 and 3 to find another niche. It’s not ideal but at least I get more familiar with the tool and process.

I still have to create a copy or some sort of a mini sales letter for this. The video says we should create around 30-50 words, a lot shorter than I expected. I’m not sure where this will be used yet so I guess I still have to check out the next videos to know that.

Thirty Day Challenge Day 3

On Day 3, we talked about analyzing potential competitors if we use the keyword that we researched on Day 2…

Competition Analysis

Day 03 - Today’s lesson is all about competition. How to measure it, how to analyse it, how to assess it. GuruBob takes us through competition analysis using the Market Samurai software. This is a must see lesson and is crucial in your ability to move forward with the right keywords.

Ed shows us how to use the Firefox/Flock addon called SEO For Firefox to perform your competition research if you’re not using Market Samurai.

The Market Samurai has a SEO Competition functionality that allows real time competition analysis of a keyword. It checks for websites that use a broad for that keyword and has the following output: Read more…

Thirty Day Challenge Day 2

Here’s the summary of Day 2 as mentioned in the Thirty Day Challenge site.

Keyword Research

Day 02 - Today is all about keyword research and the awesomeness that is Market Samurai. Ed shows you how to sign up and download the software.

GuruBob takes us through the basics of what a niche is and how to identify them, as well as some fantastic information on how to best use and identify keywords.

GuruBob also shows us the correct use and application of the Market Samurai software, using a case study to demostrate. NB: Remember, only Keyword Research is functioning right now.

Dan takes us through the manual process for doing our keyword research using Google. This is a very important video to watch to understand the foundations of keyword research, and the perfect alternative to Market Samurai if you experience any problems.

If you are in a hurry, downloading the Market Samurai and watching the Market Samurai - Case Study video are the two things you don’t want to miss! The Market Samurai is a kick-ass cross-platform software that makes keyword research and analysis easier and faster. I’ve done some keyword research before and it isn’t exactly cool and fun. This tool automates this process so you can do more with less time.

Market Samurai is still in BETA stage so it may still have some bugs. It is also only available for 40 days but its Keyword Research functionality will always be accessible even after the 40-day trial period.

The Keyword Research functionality of the Market Samurai creates keyword suggestions and analyzes the following information: Read more…

Thirty Day Challenge Day 1

“There is no charge for awesomeness.”

This is the Thirty Day Challenge motto and this is how each video would start and end. The founders of the Thirty Day Challenge aim to teach internet marketing newbies how to be successful online without spending a dime — definitely awesome! :)

Day 1 is all about the text in italics below. (This was taken from the Thirty Day Challenge website.)

A Magnificent Symphony

Day 01 - We are finally here at day one of the 30DC. To begin, Ed covers the Magnificent Symphony Of Four Parts and their order of importance. Market research, traffic, conversion and lastly product.

Ed then talks us through our recommended setup for the challenge, and the thinking up of niche ideas and resources to help us find them.

The four parts discussed in the videos (Market research, traffic, conversion and product) is all about knowing whether the product will make you money before investing time and money in it. After Ed discussed the the Magnificent Symphony of Four Parts, all I thought was, “yeah, that makes sense!”. This applies to any business, even for offline businesses. The ideas are simple but the order of importance makes a lot of difference.

For Day 2, we’ll have to think of niches that we would like to try out. I can’t think of anything specific yet. I’ll have a look at Amazon as suggested in the video and probably Ebay to get more ideas.

Thirty Day Challenge Preseason

The Thirty Day Challenge Preseason is officially over but it can be still accessed in http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com/members/preseason/ if you are registered.  The purpose of the preseason training is to familiarize yourself with the tools that will be used in the challenge.  Videos and PDF transcripts were provided to explain the use of these tools and how to set them up.

Since I registered few days before the Thirty Day Challenge, I had to cram a bit.  Some of the videos were up to 40+ minutes long so I just got the transcripts and studied those because it’s more convinient and faster for me.

The tools listed in the Thirty Day Challenge are the following.  I’ve heard some of them before but haven’t tried them.  But for some, I didn’t know there are such sites prior to the Thirty Day Challenge.  :)
- Flock - I didn’t know this existed until TDC’s Ed Dale introduced this but this looks pretty cool.  It’s a social web browser and is like Firefox.
- Twitter - Microblogging service
- Twhirl - Stand alone program for Twitter.  To me it’s like a Yahoo Messenger or a MSN messenger software in your PC.
- Google Reader - I love this one.  This lets you efficiently read all the feeds you are subscribed in.
- Stumble Upon - It’s a site that helps you find other sites that you like.
- YouTube
- Google Subscribe
- Friend Feed - Site that allows you to share different RSS feeds to your friends so they can see your blog, pictures, articles in one place.

The Preseason page also has a cheat sheet so it is helpful if you have just joined.

Thirty Day Challenge

I’ve been looking for ways to make a living online so I could finally escape the rat race.  I’ve read a lot of ebooks,  have visited a lot of sites and tried a couple of tricks and techniques for that purpose.  So far, I haven’t had a significant change to where I am today.

I came across this site from another blog and it is supposed to help people like me to get their first dollar online for 30 days… and they are doing this for FREE!

http://www.ThirtyDayChallenge.com/challenge/24733

So what’s the catch?  I actually don’t know to be honest.  I hope they are just doing this for charity :P Hahaha…

Anyway, the site says that you won’t have to spend a dime for the challenge so I am willing to give it a try.  Aside from being free, the training will teach the foundations on how to make money online.  To me, it sounds like it should give you enough ammo to make your first few sales and be able to replicate it to multiply your profits.

The Thirty Day Challenge will start on August 1 but there is a preseason training where you will get to know the tools used in the challenge.  I will start on it today and see what happens.

If you are interested, you can join through this referral link.  Remember, this is FREE!

About to get paid by Bux.to?

I’ve visited the Latest Payout Dates thread posted in the Bux.to forum today.  I am thrilled to know that they are already paying those that have requested March 7 to April 1 for premium members with Bux.to cards.  I’ve requested last March 26, more than four months ago.  I haven’t been paid yet but I am hoping to get paid really soon.  For now, I’m just happy to know they are finally trying to clear their backlog.
